Preparation Steps
Step 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) so it’s ready for baking the sweet cheese kunafa.
Step 2
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, mix the shredded kataifi dough with the melted butter until fully coated.
Step 3
Layer the Dough and Cheese
Spread half of the dough evenly in a greased baking dish and press it down gently. Spread the sweet cheese over the dough. Cover with the remaining dough, pressing down gently to secure the layers.
Step 4
Bake the Kunafa
Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top turns golden brown and crispy.
Step 5
Add Sugar Syrup
While the sweet kunafa is still hot, pour the sugar syrup evenly over the top and let it soak for a few minutes.
Step 6
Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle crushed pistachios over the top. Serve the sweet cheese kunafa warm and enjoy your Middle Eastern delight!
