Preparation Steps
Step 1
Prepare the dough for pizza
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the centre and add the yeast, olive oil, and lukewarm water.Mix together until a dough forms, then knead on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth or cling film, and leave to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size. While the dough is rising, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 2
Bake the pizza
Pour in the chopped tomatoes and add dried oregano, salt, and pepper to taste.Simmer the sauce gently for 15-20 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and allow to cool.Preheat your oven to its highest setting (around 250°C) and place a baking tray or pizza stone inside to heat up.Once the dough has risen, punch it down to deflate and divide into two equal portions. Roll out each portion on a lightly floured surface into a thin circle, about 30cm (12 inches) in diameter.
Step 3
Serve and enjoy!
Place the rolled-out dough onto a sheet of baking parchment. Spoon half of the pizza sauce onto the dough and spread evenly, leaving a small border around the edge.Arrange half of the grated Britannia The Laughing Cow Cheese Cheezza Block over the sauce.Bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.Slice the pizzas and serve hot, enjoying the authentic taste of New York-style cheese pizza.
