Made with the goodness of cheese, this Middle Eastern dessert is perfect to enjoy at home for sweet cravings.

Ingredients:

250 gKataifi dough, shredded
100 gUnsalted butter, melted
200 gMozzarella cheese
100 gSugar
1 tspRose water
1 tspOrange blossom water
1 cupSugar syrup
As neededCrushed pistachios for garnish

Method

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a large bowl, mix the shredded kataifi dough with the melted butter until fully coated.
  • Spread half of the dough evenly in a greased baking dish. Press it down gently. Spread the sweet cheese over the dough, then cover with the remaining dough, pressing it down gently.
  • Bake the kunafa in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  • While the kunafa is still hot, pour the sugar syrup evenly over it. Let it soak for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with crushed pistachios and serve warm. Enjoy.
