Craving something warm and satisfying for that rainy evening or quick dinner fix?
This easy chicken momo recipe is the perfect answer. These chicken cheese momos are juicy, flavour-packed, and wrapped in soft, steamed dough. They are light, yet filling enough to be the centrepiece of your mealtime.
How to Make
- 1.
Mix the Filling
In a big mixing bowl, toss together the chicken mince, grated Britannia The Laughing Cow Cheese, onion, garlic, ginger, and all the dry spices. This cheesy chicken mixture is the star of our chicken cheese momo.
- 2.
Knead the Dough
In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. Add water little by little and knead it into a soft, smooth dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.
- 3.
Roll It Out
Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each into a thin circle about 3–4 inches wide. It’s just like making mini rotis—but these are headed for momo heaven!
- 4.
Shape the Momos
Spoon the chicken-cheese filling into the centre of each dough circle. Fold and pleat the edges, pinching the top to seal. Don’t worry if they’re not perfect—mom-style is always best.
- 5.
Steam It Right
Lightly grease a steamer basket or plate. Place the chicken steamed momos inside, leaving some space between them. Steam for 10–12 minutes on high. You’ll know they’re ready when the dough looks translucent and slightly glossy.
- 6.
Serve and Celebrate
Serve hot with spicy chutney, garlic dip, or even ketchup. These chicken cheese momos are best enjoyed fresh.
