Japanese cuisine is most often associated with complex and artistic dishes like sushi or ramen that take years of training and hours of preparation to completely master, but that’s not always the case. There are some elements of Japanese food that are simple enough to make at home, but are just as delicious and appealing. One such example is the classic, Japanese Egg Sando.
The Japanese egg sandwich has its origins in the 19th century, when tea houses in Japan began offering Western-style sandwiches. Over time, Japanese chefs adapted these by incorporating local ingredients and flavours, leading to a unique culinary fusion.
The classic Japanese egg sandwich typically features a creamy egg salad made with boiled eggs, Japanese mayonnaise, and seasonings like soy sauce and rice vinegar, all served between slices of crustless white bread. With the additional element of Britannia The Laughing Cow Cream Cheese, these sandwiches make the perfect addition to your breakfast or snack menu.
